What are VIP-WECO No-Dig repair solutions?
The VIP-WECO NO-DIG Pipeline Sealing System is an internally installed mechanical sealing system designed to rehabilitate and permanently seal defective pipe joints, annular gaps, cracks, and damaged lining without excavation.
The system is made of a rubber sealing element (made from EPDM, NBR, HNBR or FKM), hydraulically expanded and restrained by stainless steel tension bands, creating a pressure-tight, mechanically sealed interface between the seal and the host pipe. Once installed, the seal resists groundwater ingress, exfiltration, hydrostatic pressure, and differential movement.
VIP-WECO seals are also suitable for gravity and low-pressure pipelines, including sewers, culverts, and drainage infrastructure, and can be installed in live, flowing systems, significantly reducing programme time, environmental impact, and reinstatement costs compared to traditional open-cut repairs.
VIP-WECO sealing materials comply with recognised industry standards including (WRAS) BS 6920 and even according to Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) Regulation 31(4)a for contact with potable water. VIP-WECO has been used extensively on several prominent large scale UK potable water network projects.
